Guidance Counselling From Grade 6
The weekly counseling sessions for Grade 6 to 10 students aimed to promote self-discovery, passion exploration, and goal-setting academically and holistically. Activities covered 21st-century skills, new-age careers, career exploration, types of education in India, career clusters, subject selections, academic expectations, profile building, internship discussions, and exploring international education options. Special emphasis was placed on Grade 6 students, introducing them to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to instill a sense of global responsibility.
As a result of the counseling sessions, students are now more informed and self-aware, with clarity on their interests and a better understanding of career options. The knowledge gained enables them to make informed academic decisions. The introduction of SDGs in Grade 6 has successfully cultivated a sense of social responsibility and global awareness among students.
To further enhance the program, we have focused on individual career counseling, involved guest lectures from industry professionals, integrated experiential learning opportunities like career fairs, and included regular follow-ups to assess the effectiveness of counseling interventions. These recommendations have contributed to the overall success of the guidance counseling program, empowering students with a holistic approach to education and personal development.
