Vishwa Vidyapeeth uses a unique mix of Pre-recorded videos, lesson planners and traditional teaching techniques to cater to the young vibrant minds of today. Going beyond the usual norms, VVP stresses more on conceptual thinking rather than learning theory alone.
The new initiative of “VVPiLearn” emphasises on actual holistic development of the child. Chalking out child-friendly activities, this change will mean bringing in more resources for the child to explore at school.
As evaluation system moves towards digitisation, we think it requires even the materials prepared for children to go digital. Keeping this in mind, we have a bank of such knowledge-rich resources that can help children to fall back on PRVs and other online materials in cases where they are not clear with certain concepts. Also, this helps the child to have a visual explanation rather than just reading notes out of a book.
Primary class students have a huge support in their transition from Pre-primary to Class 1 & above with such materials at their disposal. These materials are not restricted to Academics alone but also caters to Arts, Craft, Dance, Music and Sports activities as well.
VVP plans to have a long term plan with the “VVPiLearn” scheme that will help to integrate technology with traditional classroom teaching techniques in the right way. It will bridge the gap between the teacher and the child, like never before.
The most important part here is to have proper checks and balances to ensure whether the children are using technology effectively for their learning. Every change will come with its own set of challenges, but with proper and effective guidance from VVP team, we are prepared to pace the curriculum as per the current requirements, attitude and children’s IQ levels.
At Vishwa Vidyapeeth, we believe that education is not only meant for gaining good marks in an exam, but instead reaching the ultimate objective to apply the knowledge thus received in supporting the society and eventually the country at large. Hence we need to give children a proper mix of online and offline sessions.
Though VVP already has made the initiative of remedial sessions, we have found at times this being a challenge due to restriction of time when child can be at campus. In such cases, through “VVPiConnect” programme, to do away with the barrier of time, we have introduced online sessions for few selected children of higher grades, in rotation, to help them study better. Offline materials are given to support the students to help with additional revisions as well.
We believe that knowledge is everywhere, children only need to figure out the best ways to receive the knowledge being taught to them by their “gurus”. The Experiential learning will happen henceforth, both online and offline.
We are in a society, which is becoming increasingly technology driven. We are seeing that 3D printing, drones and advanced machinery, etc. are becoming more and more common in all fields now. Going forward, it’s not about what you know, but how well you understand and respond to the surrounding around. None of us have a hold on what lies ahead in the future, yet it can be claimed without doubt that success will not depend on one’s accumulation of knowledge but rather on one’s ability to learn. Hence, the use of technology as an amplifier for learning, creating, making, connecting, communicating, collaborating and problem-solving becomes all the more necessary.
Introduction to Robotics from a young age, stimulates their creativity and problem-solving skills. It gives them an ideal environment to learn how to handle making mistakes and work through complex logical problems. The traditional abstract methodology of teaching programming may seem quite boring to a child hence we need to instead give the child access to a physical robot and help them understand what can go wrong with the trial and error methods. This way they can learn what robots can and cannot do, having a hands-on experience and immediate understanding of the concepts.
Robotics in classroom also helps to hone various valuable life skills of students since they learn how to express themselves, listen to others and relate to other children – in short work as a team together! It offers students to build their own learning pathways since it gives them an open platform where they can decide where to go with their experimentations.
Robotics not just allows students to learn coding but much more. It hones team working skills of students while they assemble and program to perform various motions and tasks.
By introducing children to robotics, programming, IT, and crucial problem-solving skills during their school days, we will be furnishing them with a foundational skill set that could become essential in the future.
