A bright new morning! A perfect day for the grand event, Bharatiya Kala Vaibhava! The inauguration commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries amidst chants of hymns by the students of Vishwa Vidyapeeth. The inaugural dance was performed by the students of class VI to VIII to the tunes of Swagatham. The distinguished guest, Shri S R Vishwanath Sir, MLA of Yelahanka constituency addressed the gathering with his insightful words on the rich Indian heritage, equating our school, Vishwa Vidyapeeth to a modern Gurukula. Our first chief guest, Shri. Dinesh Kamath Sir, an eminent Sanskrit scholar and organising secretary of Samskrita Bharati, made the students reflect about the Bharatiya Bhasha, Sanskrit and how it is imbibed within us.The second chief guest of the day, Shri Devanand R. Gaddam Sir, a renowned computer scientist and a technology entrepreneur who turned to social service and community development, stressed upon the profound message, ‘Vasudeva Kutumbakam’. He appealed to this generation to take a rational approach towards the teachings of our ancestors and delve deep into their words. The Director, Smt. Suseela Santhosh Ma’am then addressed the students and conveyed that we have to practice whatever we preach and how our every action is a learning for our future selves. The inaugural function ended with the National Anthem. The grand evening of Day- 1 of Bharatiya Kala Vaibhava commenced with the lighting of the sacred lamp by the chief guests and dignitaries. The chief guest for the day was Shri. Bhimeshwar Joshi Sir, the Dharmakartha of Horanadu Annapurneshwari temple. Director, Smt. Suseela Santhosh Ma’am addressed the gathering, reminding everyone of the school’s humble beginnings and the need to revive the Guru-Shishya parampara in the modern times. Shri. Bhimeshwar Joshi Sir then pointed out that the beauty of Bharath is its unique Unity in diversity. The grand evening witnessed the enthralling performances of two renowned artists who are keeping the traditions alive with their penchant for music, Shri Anjanappa on Mukha Veena, the last person in the world who still knows this art form, and further a kutchery by Shri. Shankar Raman on Flute and Harmonium with accompanying artists on Tabla and Mridangam. The cultural extravaganza by the students of all the curricula enthralled the audience and left them wanting for more. The array of performances included skit and dances by the tiny tots of preprimary, a unique Harikatha presentation intertwined with dance and drama by the ICSE students, mind-blowing Bharatanatyam performances by the CBSE students and a foot tapping Bhangra by the IGCSE students.
