At Vishwa Vidyapeeth, we empower students to make a difference by actively participating in community service and initiatives that promote social well-being.
The Zero Hunger Challenge was launched by the United Nations as a part of the Sustainable Developmental Goals and they rightly described it as the first priority of human existence. At Vishwa Vidyapeeth, we believe that achieving this goal is our “Shared Commitment” and NOW is the time to work as partners to take forward this global movement.
We want our children to experience the emotion of ‘JOY’ by giving. So, we humbly request you all to support us with the launch of the new programme named “अन्नदाता सुखी भव”.
As part of this programme, we have been doing two major activities:
The raw material once collected is cooked every Saturday at campus & served to needy people. Parents have volunteered to join us in this noble cause.
Vishwa Vidyapeeth students will not end their efforts towards the Zero Hunger Drive with just one activity but consistently work towards the same in equal intervals. Of course, the support of our parents is quintessential to support us to make this campaign a success. We look forward to your suggestions and support as always!
Vishwa Vidyapeeth always strives in improving access to quality education and true to SDG 4 on Quality Education, Vishwa Vidyapeeth has adopted the Government School of Singanayakanahalli. Selected teachers from our school teach the students on various subjects like Yoga, Sanskrit, Art/Craft, Mathematics and English. Vishwa Vidyapeeth teachers facilitate learning skills and motivate the students towards holistic development. The School has also taken a noble initiative to provide free education at our school to the brilliant students of the Government School for Grade IX. Further, the students from Government School are invited to perform and be a part of our school events like International Yoga Day, Independence Day, Republic Day etc.
Session for our school drivers on their well being is also equally important and focussed at Vishwa Vidyapeeth. The teachers from the Yoga Department undertake the Yoga sessions for all the drivers in the morning hours after they are in the campus from their bus routines. Apart from the learning, they also participate in the competitions which boost their confidence and the essence of learning.
They are also part of the VVPGS events.
Vishwa Vidyapeeth, in its endeavour to be socially conscious partners in the society, launched the “Save Water, Live Better” Campaign on 21st September, 2016. To further spread awareness, the School organised a Cyclothon the same year on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi. At Vishwa Vidyapeeth, the school emphasises on teaching children by actually being role models ourselves and showing them the way ahead. Promoting water conservation is very important and this awareness and value of water conservation is learnt by students in class. As it is a part of curriculum, the students are given opportunities to come up with various methods of conserving water. Visual aids and real-life examples are used to illustrate to students the effect of water scarcity.
As part of SEWA club activity, students across the grades are involved in various activities which foster 21st century skills. Activities like making masks, aprons, cleaning the school garden, helping the nurse at Infirmary, and awareness posters on bathroom etiquette are created by senior students. Placing the sign boards to have judicious use of water and its conservation, saving energy by switching off lights when not in use, are some of the daily chores that our school prefects do on a regular basis. Gardening and Tree planting are done during the month of June onwards which encourages students to prepare the soil, sow the seeds and grow various plants like Methi, Ragi or Dhaniya within the school premises. This not only promotes cleanliness but also environmental awareness. In the Experiential Classes, students have learnt to make paper which gave them insight on the effort to make papers and the need to conserve trees.
Under Personal Hygiene , the visit of a Paediatrician to the campus and conducted an interactive session on personal hygiene practices engaged the students, teachers and the community.
VVP, in collaboration with ITC, successfully launched an initiative encouraging students with many parents getting involved, helping their children to collect dry waste in exchange for attractive stationery items. This program not only motivated waste segregation but also raised awareness about environmental responsibility. Students eagerly participated, bringing in various dry waste items and in return, they received colourful notebooks, pens. Pencils, erasers and more. The excitement around the exchange fostered a sense of community and environmental stewardship among the students. By engaging young minds in this hands-on approach, VVP and ITC are making a meaningful impact, promoting sustainable practices that will benefit the planet for years to come.
