Enriching student life through diverse activities, clubs, and events that inspire learning and leadership
Based on NEP, we focus on offering multilingual school assemblies every day of the week to acknowledge and promote diversity of our beautiful country. The points we focus on are:
In conclusion, Morning assembly is not a simple routine; It’s a powerful tool for nurturing creativity, holistic and spiritual development, and connecting their minds towards the Goal for our students.
The “Dharmika Dinachari” book has been distributed to all students at Vishwa Vidyapeeth. This book, which translates to “Righteous Daily Routine,” is designed to help children understand and practice values essential for personal and societal growth. The book encourages the cultivation of virtues such as honesty, kindness, and responsibility, promoting overall character development.
The School has attached great importance to leadership training for Classes 6 & above. Various programmes are devised for imparting leadership training, chief among them being our students’ Executive Body. From Class 6 onwards, pupils in each section select monitors to look into different areas of the school including Discipline, Sports, Science, Literary Affairs, Cleanliness, Art & Culture, External Affairs, Current Affairs, School Facilities and Bulletin Boards. We are guided by the policy of maximum participation rather than minority elitism hence more leaders are chosen to deliver better. The class elections are conducted by secret ballot.
We strongly believe in the power of student-led initiatives. Our students are encouraged to take active roles in various school activities, including conducting inter-house sports competitions, leading revision sessions, organising parent-teacher meetings, and hosting school events. This helps to develop essential leadership skills, manage teams, delegate tasks, and take responsibility for their actions. We have found that this activity brings in a sense of responsibility that extends to their academic and personal lives, making them more accountable and disciplined.
Vishwa Vidyapeeth believes that education should cover all facets of human life. Hence taking things beyond the textbook, we open up nature to our students at school. Instead of doing candle marches and arm-chair discussions, we want our children to be the catalyst of change in society. In this regard several programmes are conducted to make children aware of the supreme value of a healthy environment.
Further to the launch of the Fit India Movement on 29th August, 2019 with a view to make Physical Fitness a way of life, VVP has decided to become a catalyst with regard to teaching students ‘How to Live’ which involves teaching and practising the art of taking care of one’s body and health daily. We encourage students to move from ‘Passive Screen time’ to ‘Active Field time’ and the aim of the objective is to develop Sports Quotient among all the students to achieve a healthy lifestyle. This has also helped us to instil in students the understanding for regular physical activity and higher levels of fitness enhancing their self-esteem and confidence.
At Vishwa Vidyapeeth, we are dedicated to supporting our students’ future aspirations through comprehensive career guidance programs. These initiatives are designed to help students make informed decisions about their career paths and achieve their professional goals.
Our career guidance programs are an integral part of our commitment to student success. We encourage students to take full advantage of these resources to ensure a bright and prosperous future.
The Vishwa Vidyapeeth Model United Nations (VVPMUN) helps students understand the working of the United Nations and its committees. Students take part as delegates who represent world leaders, organisations or countries. It is a challenging activity that involves in-depth research, debate, discussion, critical thinking, leadership and decision making. Students are exposed to issues that impact the world today such as human rights, economic inequality, environment, food security, women’s rights and so on. From 2019 onwards, we have regularly hosted this Inter School programme successfully at our Yelahanka campuses.
The Mentor Mentee Program is crucial for a successful career as it helps bridge the gap between faculty and students. Mentoring offers students emotional and instrumental support, guidance, encouragement, and a better school environment. A mentor plays a crucial role in nurturing students and has a positive impact on their persistence and academic achievement. A mentee can seek both educational and personal guidance from their mentor. The program aims to help students strengthen their diverse capabilities and foster an interpersonal relationship between faculty and students. The students are divided among each facilitator for the whole year. The mentorship begins from the wake up call and random calls to ensure that constant communication and support is given.
Through participation in “Social Empowerment through Work education and Action” (SEWA), students get a sense of community service and develop self-reliance. For the past few years, Vishwa Vidyapeeth children of grades 6 and above have been required to do a yearly 30 to 50 hours (based on the grade) of social service as part of the curriculum and this has helped students develop themselves as responsible citizens of our society. We make children understand that working towards the cause of under-privileged or differently abled emphasises on the interdependence of human beings and makes them aware of their duties towards the human kind.
A student body will be nominated and appointed by the Principal in consultation with the teacher’s fraternity. Various prefects will be appointed who will look after the Discipline, Co-curricular and sports activities under the physical education department. Vishwa Vidyapeeth Student Council is nominated and conducted by the students under the supervision of the adults. Members of the student council are expected to maintain a high standard of personal conduct, must be in good standing with the faculty, students and administration and always maintain excellence in academics. The words and actions of members should lead their peers. At Vishwa Vidyapeeth, we believe that the student council and its functions should be run upon the democratic parliamentary procedures.
Vishwa Vidyapeeth has been changing lives for many years with its motto of ‘Creating Hunger for Good Learning’. Its focus on education has positively impacted the students. Over the years, our vision has been for students to focus on achieving personal goals while contributing to society, especially after they graduate from our school. We also recognize that a strong alumni network benefits the institution and society, which is why the team at VVP works tirelessly to maintain connections with former students. We provide a platform for alumni to connect with their peers, share knowledge, volunteer, engage in social activities, and participate in charitable endeavours. We take great pride in our exceptional alumni and cherish the memories of our graduates.
